Our judge this year is: Daisy Richmond-Smith
Daisy Richmond-Smith, a Landscape Architect and Associate at DKO, works at the intersection of landscape architecture, wayfinding strategy and experience design.
She has a focus on the interplay between form, space and the human experience. Her work is underpinned by connecting the built environment with nature, and brings a rich holistic design knowledge to the world of sculpture and spatial art.
She is known for her contributions to culturally significant landscapes and complex developments, sculpture gardens, exhibition spaces and residential properties from jewel-like courtyards to expansive rolling acreage.
As a judge, Daisy’s nuanced approach to design, coupled with her passion for creating meaningful user experiences, offers invaluable insights into the power of sculpture to shape and redefine our relationship with space and place.
Herring Island "Sculpture in Place"
On 18/01/2025 ASV President Jenny Rickards officially opened the HERRING ISLAND Annual Arts Festival with 35 works from loyal and spontaneous members of the ASV - after ONLY one week’s Notice from Vic Parks!
It was an incredible feat by all concerned and huge praise to our amazing Pres! The very hot weather did not seem to deter visitors from everywhere in the world(!), many locals had never been to Herring Island OR the ASV Herring Island Sculpture Exhibition before! The majority were really impressed by the very high standard of workmanship, including the variety of mediums and subject matter. Quite a few works sold and we should see at least several new Members joining us, including lots of Newsletter subscribers who want to follow artists and future exhibitions - woo hoo!

The Maquette: Sculpture Award will be held at McClelland in 2025.
McClelland is delighted to be showcasing the medium of sculpture with the launch of this $20,000 acquisitive award for an original sculpture, thanks to the generous support of Rick Amor.
Rick Amor was born in Frankston and has an extensive body of work and is a highly regarded sculptor.
In 2025 this award will be granted to an outstanding original, maquette which will become part of the McClelland collection.
