Letter from the President

 Hello Sculptors,

It’s warmer now and spring has blessed our Port of Sale exhibition with sunshine and happy visitors.

I must say - I love work - I could watch it all day! The planning and organising and pressure for Sale came together in a beautifully orchestrated effort. First the site induction and then the team sprang into action for the large outdoor works. Check the social media: Aukje recorded the arrival and installation of “Gypsy of the Deep” Sam Anderson’s whale shark. The WSC ground staff were a joy to witness.

$20000 Major Acquisition Paul Jesse "Helix"
What a wonderful event! On behalf of myself, The Association of Sculptors Victoria, Wellington Shire Council and Wildlife Victoria I would like to thank you all for taking the time to be part of the second Victorian Sculpture Prize.

We had outstanding numbers through the space over the weekend managing to transform the Port of Sale into a spectacular entertainment precinct. The feedback on the quality of the work and event has been enormously positive.

Congratulations to those artists who sold works and also our award winners who were:

Sylvia Simon’s Studio

Sylvia is closing her studio and is offering items to interested sculptors. "I Have got a very solid stainless steel extruder and several disks with different sized holes—I know years ago I paid $200 for it but for all my hand building stuff it was great. This is the large kiln which is in 2 parts—when I bought it is was not deep enough so I had another part made to sit on top
