HELPERS WANTED FOR HERRING ISLAND EXHIBITION
The exhibitors have volunteered very well to staff this show, but we would still value members' help in running demonstrations and sitting on Australia Day 26th January. This is a great opportunity for any of you who haven't exhibited at Herring Island to take a look and appreciate the buzz.
The exhibition opening will be on Saturday 15th January at 12noon. Our speaker and opener will be Mr Nigel Caswell, former General Manager of Parks Victoria who, in conjunction with Maudie Palmer instigated the Herring Island Environmental Sculpture Park.
Contact Jenny Rickards 0418 971 897 or jennyrickards@sculptorsvictoria.asn.au.

ELLIOT ASV GALLERY
We ask that you consider now what works you may like to submit for inclusion to the
Elliot ASV Gallery at a partial refreshment of the exhibition at the end of February.
As reported in Sculpere for November,
The Elliot ASV Gallery, at 356-358 Punt Road, South Yarra, 3141,
was formally opened on Saturday afternoon 20 November.
Now about 6 weeks after opening, approximately one third of the exhibits are sold or under offer.
The exhibition is open Tuesday to Saturday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm each week.
Commissions are 10% + GST for gallery sponsor John Elliot and 10% for ASV.
The following exterior spaces are being utilized:
1. Two exterior, part-tree lined patio spaces, with some exhibits open to view from side road to Punt Rd;
2. Exterior, private, walled patio space, with small pool and small water cascade,
open to visitors to Elliot salon;
3. Cabinets with windows facing on to Punt Road, backed with fern walls, and flood lit at night.
Placement is the prerogative of John Elliot as owner of the gallery space,
acting with the advice of Michael Meszaros.
Items sold now are being replaced,
and we aim to replace some of those not sold by end February with different works.
A completely refreshed exhibition is planned for end of April.
We are happy to accept works from previous ASV exhibitions.
Would you please plan now for outdoor sculptures to be included in the end-February refreshment exercise,
and send sketches and/or photos with dimensions and asking prices to

2011 TOORAK VILLAGE SCULPTURE EXHIBITION - "CALLING FOR ENTRIES"
‘A DECADE OF SCULPTURE’
The Toorak Village Sculpture Exhibition is the most innovative and important annual event to take place in the Toorak Village, where we link the arts with business to form a unique cultural experience. During the entire month of May we exhibit contemporary sculptural works in the shop windows and on the sidewalks of Toorak Rd. Each year it continues to grow with increased enthusiasm from traders, artists & the public that view & buy sculpture.
2011 will be the 10th year of the Toorak Village Sculpture Exhibition and we invite all emerging and prominent sculptors to submit entries for both interior & exterior installation.
Interior: small to medium sized for exhibition in shop windows & must be displayed on an independent white base (supplied by artist). Remember our shop window sizes do vary &
the sculptures must share window space with shops merchandise.
Exterior: large sized, extremely robust & able to be fixed/bolted to footpath
for installation along Toorak Road. There will be 8 to 10 sites available.
Curator : Malcolm Thomson, presently curator of the Clement Meadmore Gallery
at the Australian Academy of Design will assist the exhibition committee
with the selection of sculpture for the 2011 exhibition. A prestigious opening in the Toorak Village, a full colour catalogue, signage, posters & an impressive media campaign. Once again it is proudly supported & sponsored by the City of Stonnington along with Toorak Village businesses. Prizes to be announced.
APPLICATIONS CLOSE: SATURDAY 31ST JANUARY 2011
Entry forms & details can be downloaded from our website www.tooraksculpture.com.au
