The Association of Sculptors of Victoria is an inclusive, not-for-profit collective of contemporary artists whose purpose is to inspire,stimulate and advance the appreciation, creation, and exploration of three-dimensional art in society.

SUMMARY MINUTES OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Wednesday 13 October 2010

The President expressed the appreciation of the Association to the Sponsors for their continuing support of the Association – in particular, Dame Elizabeth Murdoch, Michael and Daniel Meszaros, Dalchem Australia, IMG and Mitre 10, Without Pier Gallery, and Bulleen Art and Gardens.
Committee members and Coordinators were thanked for their continued hard work during the year:
Patrick Culshaw (retiring as Treasurer, with acknowledgement also to his contributions in organising exhibitions and as Secretary); Gillian Govan; Kay Salehi; Marija Patterson; Jenny Rickards; Mark Cowie. Thanks were also due to Michael Meszaros and John Bishop for their continuing support.
The accounts for the year ended 30 June 2010 showed total income (excluding sales of sculpture) of $8,578 compared to $6,155 in the year ended 30 June 2009; a surplus of $1,557 (deficit of $292 in 2009); net assets of $21,551 ($19,994 at 30 June 2009). The net assets figure represents the highest reported since June 1994.
The number of members reported was 106.

Two new exhibitions were reported as being organised for the future: Castlemaine in April 2011, and the Elliot ASV ongoing exhibition from 23 November 2010.
The new ASV website was reported to be under review and not yet ready for implementation.
The following Committee members were elected unopposed:

Treasurer – John Ride
Ordinary Member – Marija Patterson
Ordinary Member – Monica Mauer
Public Officer – John Bishop
Two motions to amend the Constitution were passed, in accordance with requirements from Consumer Affairs:
the first concerned lodging proxies with the Secretary 24 hours before a meeting; the second concerned the Secretary controlling all books and records for the Association.
Other Motions passed were:
1. Reports and papers to be presented at the AGM should be circulated to members prior to the meeting.
2. John Ride is appointed a signatory for the ASV Bank Account.
