President's Message for October

Hi All,

Wow! Another year almost gone. I hope it has been great for all our members. Have you won a prize? Have you sold a Sculpture? Have you entered exhibitions? Most importantly have you had a great year making sculpture and really enjoying the journey as well as the result? This year we are having an early Christmas party at the home of Carmel Ritchie in Eltham. I see some members at our monthly meetings and others at exhibitions and some even socially but I would really enjoy the opportunity to meet more members and hear about what the year has held for you. Please join us for a relaxing BBQ lunch and a jolly chat with other sculptors about sculpture (or anything else). I love a good chat. For those who can’t make it I wish you a happy Christmas and a productive creative New Year.

ASV meetings are being held in the Ashburton Baptist Church Meeting Rooms, enter from the Marquis Street carpark Melway 60D9

 

• 24th November - the Xmas party see the article on this page
• Herring Island Summer Arts Festival 2014 - our exhibition will be 11th January to 27th January - early I know so check the article for ways to exhibit without letting the side down or having family feuds.
• 12th February 2014 - first monthly meeting for the year? or we may be visiting Andrew Bryant’s studio - watch for more information
• 26 to 30 March 2014 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Working on such a large exhibition is quite a team effort - Mark has agreed to help guide the show and there is already a team of helpers to put this together - but if you can help in some way - great or small - get in touch with Mark on asv_mifgs@sculptorsvictoria.asn.au

The ASV Christmas Party

Carmel Ritchie is happy to have the xmas party. Sooooo the details are: 7 Lamorna Crt Eltham 3095 It is in the centre of Eltham town on a hill, not too difficult to find. Please bring meat etc. and drinks and sweets to share. Sunday 24th November @12 MD Please RSVP to Carmel on 0414 996 207 or carmel011@bigpond.com. Desserts and salads would be appreciated. Thanks to Carmel for opening her home. Lets have a fun pre Christmas party with fellow sculptors in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
