Inter-State Activities

Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi NSW 29 October – 15 November 2009: The world’s largest annual free-to-the-public outdoor sculpture exhibition will open in its 13th year and draw an estimated 500,000 visitors to view over 100 unique sculptures from artists in every state of Australia and internationally. International Activities

Khanty-Mansisk city, Russian Federation in August September 2010: An invitation to the ASV to participate in an exhibition with the theme “Family Unity is the Unity of the World”. The main aim of the project is propaganda of human and family values by means of plastic art and art of photography. Sculptors can send photos of sculpture works for contest, devoted to the eternal topic of the Family, Parents and Children till February 26, 2010. This Exhibition is to participate in the cultural program within the scope of the World Chess Olympic 39. Packing costs at artist expense, but transfer costs at steering committee expensed. Last News Sheet/Letter

Would any members who have overlooked payment of ASV subscription for 2009/2010, please note that this is the last news bulletin they will receive until fees are paid.

Newsletter Editor

Bronwyn resigned from the position of news editor, and the next few news sheets will be continued on a temporary basis by the President. I will continue the basis recently adopted of a full quarterly newsletter with photos and articles, the next being due in November, supplemented by monthly news sheets in between with updates on activities etc. Photos and articles will generally be reserved for the quarterly newsletter. I would appreciate early application and appointment of a newsletter editor. Country applications are encouraged for this post, and will receive every support with getting to know the ropes. Computer skills in MS Word required. Apply to the Secretary please.

Web Site Coordinator

Jenny has been asking for some time for the appointment of a new controller of the ASV web site, and the development of a new ASV web site has accelerated the need for involvement of a person to manage it in future. Some general IT skills in MS Word, email, pdf files, web site management. A tall order amongst sculptors maybe.
