2025 Annual Awards Exhibition

The Annual and Awards Exhibition is the highlight of the year for the Association of Sculptors and entries are now open. It is an exhibition where members with over 10 years sculpture experience are judged by their peers and can be awarded the prestigious Margaret Gunnersen William Hoggan Thomas Award. The Andor Meszaros Award is an Encouragement Award for both members and non -members of the Association with fewer than 10 years sculpting. Other Awards include donations from Mal Wood Foundry, Dalchem suppliers of moulding materials, Art Almanac and a bequest from Valda Cuming and the People’s Choice Award. The 2025 exhibition will be held at the historic Victorian Artists Society Galleries and is coordinated by Paul Cacioli, assisted by Heather Wilson and supported by Gillian Govan.

There are a few changes from last year with our presentations being held on the second weekend rather than the first to give more opportunity for members to vote for the prestigious Margaret Gunnersen William Hoggan Thomas Award. It is important that votes are registered and there will be information and slips available in the sitters manual. We have a lot of new members so we have included information about this award in this news letter.

We would ask that people read the conditions of entry and make sure you have extra help if installing heavy works as the galleries are all up stairs. Although there is a small lift outstairs and a lift inside to assist deliveries. To help with the sitting roster it is also important that artists give us more than one date as we need to have at least two people for every session
