We held a successful AGM meeting via Zoom on 11th November 2020. Reports were tabled by the president and subcommittees
All positions were filled except for those of President and Vice president. It was great that several members have joined the committee. Holding meetings on Zoom has enabled country members to be involved and their contribution has been much appreciated..
In Discussion regarding the absence of a President there has been a proposal that we could perhaps form a Presidential subcommittee. This would mean that the role would be shared and covered by three or four members instead of one individual, thus easing the load. Below is the basic job description for the President.
Other unforeseen administrative issues can be discussed and if necessary referred to previous presidents or members of the committee to help with resolution.
It would be advantageous if the sub committee members attended committee meetings to learn about the running of the Association and the committee would always be available for support and advise.
PRESIDENT The President is responsible for over-all direction of the Association, and chairs meetings of Ordinary Members and the Executive Committee, unless he/she advises that he/she is not available. The President is entitled to receive notice of all meetings of Ordinary Members, the Executive Committee, and Sub- Committees
Chairs meeting- Rotate. The committee meetings are held approximately bi monthly. And of course the AGM
Guides the agenda/program for the year (including some fun!!!) - As a group
Writes a president’s message for the newsletter. – If each member of this subcommittee contributes this would make interesting and varied reading. This can be rewarding.
Officiate at openings of exhibitions- One sub committee member per exhibition. Eg. Herring Island, Garden Show the Annual and Awards and any other exhibition we hold.
We look forward to receiving your offers for the support of your Association.
