The committee met to discuss the Annual and the website; followed a week later by a general meeting regarding the website for members to have their say. Only 2 people (One being Jenny Rickards) attended other than committee members which was very disappointing considering it is the members’ website. It was agreed by those present to do a short list of limited changes of work employing Alberto who designed and built the website and pay him for all future work. This was in preference to a complete rebuild which could meet identified problems but cost perhaps $15,000. This may still take some time and the website may still not be perfect for the volunteers involved in recording exhibitions etc. The anticipated work is aimed at 1. keeping exhibition management off the website. 2. Including non-member sculptors exhibits on the website thus making ASV exhibition records complete.
At this point I would like to notify all members that I will not be standing for re-election as president at the next AGM which will probably be held after the Annual Exhibition in September.
Please put your thinking caps on and nominate a new president or even put your hand up. Look forward to hearing from you.
