Editor's Quote and President's Letter

“Painting is so poetic, while sculpture is more logical and scientific and makes you worry about gravity.”
— Damien Hirst

On Saturday I visited our exhibition space for the exhibition in Castlemaine in November. It is a Goldfields historic building and used to host the produce and livestock market during the gold rush. One good part is that one of the side aisles of the building is the tourist information center - so you can look up all the other attractions in and around Castlemaine and Maldon. Since I went to Castlemaine by train I noticed the Victorian Goldfields Railway was in action with steam trains running between Castlemaine and Maldon. Train enthusiasts will be in paradise. I was given a brochure of places to dine and a map of arts attractions within walking distance of the Market Building. We are going to have so much fun!
