Upcoming ASV Exhibitions and a Report on the Annual and Awards Exhibition

Here we remind you of our current program - stay in touch as opportunities may arise soon.

Art on the Hill

Paul Cacioli is getting Art on the Hill going again this year.
He has been working with Mont De Lancey to see how to attract more people to the exhibition as well as to Mont Delancey. They have come up with an idea to incorporate the exhibition with a Spring Festival. The title of the festival is Mont Delancey Spring Festival – Art and Artisans.
The Art on the Hill Exhibition will run from the 20th to the 24th of September and the Spring Festival will run on the 23rd and 24th of September. The Spring Festival will include artisans such as bakers, brewers, distillers, wood working, blacksmithing, leather makers, etc. It will also include some family friendly activities.

Mont Delancey will also be promoting the event so we will have a wider audience.

You can find the invitation to artists here and the conditions of entry here.

Entries close on 4 September

Tesselaar Tulip Festival

The ASV have been fortunate to have held an exhibition at this lovely tulip festival in previous years. The festival is on soon, if you would like to visit. https://tulipfestival.com.au

However, to have this exciting site available for us next year we need a coordinator with the support of other members. If you would like to help out, please contact the ASV. mail@sculotrsvictoria.asn.au

ANNUAL & AWARDS EXHIBITION REPORT

From Gillian Govan

Hi to all members.

Just a very brief report on the Annual and Awards exhibition.

We had 105 entries by 61 sculptors. Congratulations to all who won awards and to exhibitors who sold their work. It was a great exhibition of very diverse, interesting and accomplished works.

We had 214 people at the opening event and the number of visitors daily was greatly increased from the previous year. Average 36 per day. Comments about the work and exhibition as a whole were very positive. Visitors were really studying and analysing and enjoying the sculptures.

Thanks to all the exhibitors.

Thanks to our sponsors who donated financially and in practical ways. Due to their generosity we were able to break even.

A huge thank you to all who made this exhibition possible. Jenny Rickards for all her work on the computer including the online exhibition. Yvonne Monik for managing the data and getting entries. Anne Anderson for managing the sitter’s roster. Jonathan Mendez for his brilliant artwork for our invitations and posters. The Social media team Aukje van Vark and Janice Rochford and Gunnel Watkins for managing catering at the opening. There were many others who helped with small but very significant tasks.

Coordinating this very special exhibition has been a great privilege and a very satisfying, rewarding experience for me. However I have been involved in the Annual and Awards for about 12 years and would now like to hand over to another member. As you can see we have a great team and a great venue.

I am happy to support a new coordinator. This is your exhibition and the highlight of ASV exhibiting year.

We need you.

If you are happy to take part please call me on 0412122884. Gillian
