Studio Visit

  Special visits to Studios

  • Studio of Alex Goad
  • The opportunity to visit the studio of Alex Goad was included in January’s edition of the Sculpere newsletter.

  • When reading about Alex Goad and Reef Design lab I was inspired by their clarity of intention and purpose. I think as sculptors our 'niche' is sometimes obscure and the 'demographic' our work appeals to unclear. Their main goal is clear, it is environmental and their niche unique...and they make a difference. I think the conversation around ‘niche’ and ‘demographic’ is an interesting one and food for further thought.  Gunnel Watkins

  • Reef Design Lab enter into partnerships around the world  to support marine research and to find solutions that will  benefit the marine environment. They 'develop techniques for enhancing the ecological performance of marine structures and to create more effective habitat solutions'.

  • Don’t miss this great opportunity Alex has agreed to talk to us about how he came to start this project, how he has used clay and 3D printing to achieve an aid for restoring our marine life. It will be interesting to visit a studio where the use of 3D printing is extensive and is used  to minimise cost while increasing design complexity.
