ASV News & Next Meetings

Well, there hasn’t been a great deal of good news lately and bottom of the barrel for us was cancelling the Annual & Awards Exhibition for the second time.

It has been so difficult not being able to shop for materials, take work to foundries, and exhibit in non ASV exhibitions but we are just keeping our fingers crossed for next year.  We have booked the Victorian Artists Society Gallery for 2022  for 3 weeks starting Wednesday 8th June to Tues 28th June.

My other good news is that following Aukje’s letter in the last newsletter we have been fortunate to receive offers from four of our members to become part of the Presidential team. I am looking forward to working with them and handing over the reins.

As I write this I am also getting some good news from Gavin Roberts re Victorian Sculpture Prize in Sale.

So keep Smiling and Sculpting

Don’t forget to check our Facebook ASV members page. Tips, questions and interesting items. You can also help another sculptor with your knowledge or ask a fellow sculptor for help. It is a great resource.

October monthly & ASV AGM both zoom meetings

Our next meeting will be a Zoom meeting on Tuesday 12th October at 7:30pm. We are trying the Tuesday to give people who may be committed on a Wednesday a chance to attend. A suggestion for our meeting is if any members would like to tell us about their journey in sculpture. It is always interesting to know why, when, how we are making our art. A link will be sent out before the meeting.

The ASV AGM for 2021 will be held via Zoom on Tuesday 23 November at 7:30 pm. The Zoom will give all members the opportunity to attend and contribute to the future of the ASV - and we can share in the struggles of the past 12 months.
