From the President

Well we are nearing the end of another eventful year.  We have had some successful exhibitions, enjoyable meetings, where we have met other sculptors and enjoyed discussing experiences, techniques etc. We have visited studios, foundries and galleries.

I would like to thank your committee for their commitment and time spent to make this all possible. We would be delighted to have other members help, not necessarily by becoming committee members but helping to contribute perhaps by researching sponsorship, grants and even letting us know with your help how we can improve.  Please contact me if you would like to contribute in some small way. At this point I would like to thank John Bishop for taking on the management of the Tesselaar Exhibition in 2020 and express sincere gratitude to Mark Cowie who has run this exhibition since its inception.

We already have some exciting events planned for next year. Herring Island exhibition in January then the Melbourne International Flower and Garden show. We are already looking for a venue for the Annual and Awards exhibition.  We have planned a visit to Tarrawarra Gallery to see the Robert Klippel exhibition in February and later a visit to a glass blowing studio and hopefully some great speakers in the pipeline.

We look forward to seeing members enjoy some of these activities. I would like extend a welcome to sculptors who have joined the Association this year and hope to meet you all soon.

To all our members I hope your Christmas was happy and the coming year filled with enjoyable creativity...

Gillian Govan President ASV
