Upcoming ASV Exhibitions

October is the month when we launch entries for two exhibitions - the Herring Island Summer Arts Festival and the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show.

Entry forms for both exhibitions are online at http://sculperenewsletter.blogspot.com/ Follow the tab to the exhibition you are entering. Information sheets on How to Enter and the Conditions of Entry are to be found on the main ASV website at sculptorsvictoria.asn.au/exhibitions/application_forms

Herring Island gallery is the converted scout hall on a man made island in the Yarra. The 2020 Festival runs from 18 January to 13 April with the ASV exhibition leading the show from 18 January to 9 February. In 2020 we will have an additional Friday open to include groups or individuals who need a weekday opening - school groups or guided tours for example. In 2019 there were 49 sculptures on show.

The Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show runs from 25 March to 29 March 2020. In 2019 we had 147 works on show over the three sections; Courtyard, Garden and Estate. Here is the call from the coordinator:

Dear Sculptors,
It is that time of year again where the Entries for the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (MIFGS) are open. This year it is the 25th Anniversary of MIFGS and it promises to be a bigger and better event. We have been allocated a new area, still as large as what we have had in the past and in a prominent location. We are looking to run workshops over the five days so we will be looking for volunteers to run them ( a separate email will be sent on this topic). We will be having street art on the main walkway in our area as well as a new printed tent. The Judge for this year will be Lis Johnson (https://www.lisjohnson.com.au/ ), who is an accomplished and well recognized sculptor.

We will possibly be having our presentation night at The Lincoln Hotel, 91 Cardigan St, Carlton, where Lis will present her deliberations and adjudication on the artwork.

The following are key dates:
