Hello sculptors - the end of another month is rolling around. Some of us have exhibitions throughout the second half of the year. I see them coming up on the social media feeds - we really should put together a diary list so that groups of us can plan to see and discuss those shows.
Some of the exhibitions run outside the ASV have long lead times between close of entries and the start of the exhibition. This can make it hard to commit to showing your most recent work… will it sell in an exhibition prior to the one entered? Each exhibition has its own idiosyncrasies… we need to be aware of them and to work with them. We all explore the formats and settle on the galleries that suit us best.
Quadrant Gallery is making a proposal for a sculpture exhibition this coming October. Sculptors Victoria won’t be making it one of ours but we will offer publicity to participating members. The format of the exhibition is a series of one week, small group shows (6 or so works per sculptor) - each with an opening and invitation list - speed dating for your work. There will be an online meeting - probably on Wednesday 5th August at 6:30 for you to talk to the gallery manager and decide if you are interested in participating.

Feedback from the recent Annual & Awards Exhibition is vital to innovation. Please send your own and your visitors comments to asv_aae@sculptorsvictoria.asn.au. What was good about the exhibition, what did or did not work and what could be better. Not everything is possible but it helps to know how you feel about the exhibition.
Congratulations to everyone in the spread of voting for the People’s Choice Award - definitely something for everyone.
