Kinglake Art Exhibition

This month, several of our members decided to exhibit at the annual Kinglake Art Exhibition. Chris Anderson presented his incredible work and for a second time took out “Best Sculpture" for his steel piece entitled “Elusive", depicting a platypus.

As well as this award, Chris’ amazing piece also won the award for "Best In Show", covering all media and categories.

We are very lucky to have Chris as a talented and dedicated member of the ASV.

Visiting the Giants in Mandurah

While in Perth recently, I drove down to Mandurah to discover these wonderful creations by Danish recycling artist, Thomas Dambo. He wants to inspire people to get out into nature so he creates larger than life statues made from recycled wood and places them around the world. They are beautifully constructed using wood panels. Each one had a particular character and meaning. I didn’t have time to find the other giants and solve the puzzle, but there were many people on the trail.

Carmel Ritchie

Marija Patterson has a slab of travertine and piece of marble looking for a new home.

Travertine- Measures about 950 mm square and 22mm thick. Marble piece about 500 x 300 mm x 22 mm thick.
