Nominations are open for the CHASS Australia Distinctive Work Prize.

This prize is for a performance, exhibition, project or specific policy development relating to any/all Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) fields. The more creative and unique the better - a Distinctive Work can be many things - just ask us! Sponsored by Routledge, the finalist will be awarded a $3,500 cash prize and recognition from our esteemed Distinctive Work jury.

Please note there is no nomination fee, and nominations are open to anyone, as long as the nominated work fits within the specified criteria. We accept both self-nominations and nominations on behalf of someone else. Applications for the $250,000 Southern Way McClelland Commission 2018 are open to all from 23 March 2018 to 15 June 2018. The recipient of the commission will be announced in July 2018 and it is envisaged the work will be completed by the end of July 2019.

The City of Ballarat is seeking responses from interested artists in a project to create a public artwork honouring the humanitarian work of Major George Devine Treloar.in the resettlement of Greek refugees from Asia Minor. The artwork will be installed in the Sturt Street Garden precinct in Ballarat, Victoria.

Cardinia Shire Council is entering an exciting new phase in its public art development and is seeking expressions of interest from professional artists to develop new permanent public artworks within the shire. There are two distinct projects in this EOI round:

1. Hills Hub Project - the commission of an internal suspended artwork to the value of $65,500, to be located inside the brand new Hills Hub in Emerald.

2. Ranges Ward Project - the commission of two public artworks to the total value of $78,000, located along the walking tracks joining the towns of Emerald, Gembrook and Cockatoo. This second commission includes a residency/community engagement component in the concept development phase.
