The Association of Sculptors of Victoria is an inclusive, not-for-profit collective of contemporary artists whose purpose is to inspire,stimulate and advance the appreciation, creation, and exploration of three-dimensional art in society.

Allan Goedecke

Here is a bit more about the winner of the 2017 ADFAS Yarra Andor Meszaros Sculpture Prize


Allan Goedecke worked as an educator in a range of teaching environments including secondary, TAFE and refuge youth programs. He holds a Master of Education in Asian studies and lived and worked in Asia over a period of seven years. He worked in Australian twining programs with universities in Sri Lanka and China and taught in the corporate and university sectors in Japan. He was the National Partnerships Manager at the Asia Education Foundation at the University of Melbourne. Allan has lead study tours for teachers to China, Korea and India and has worked as a consultant to the Victorian Education Department promoting studies of Asia and Asian languages.

 Two years ago Allan decided to try his hand at sculpture and commenced classes with the exceptionally talented sculptor Gray Nichols at the Victorian Artists Society. He has been awarded two years running in the annual VAS student exhibitions.
