Sitting the exhibition will be tricky for those with weekdays employment so please plan ahead for it. One of the advantages of an artist run exhibiton is that it is sat by the artists who made the work and who know the most about it. Any member who can’t exhibit this year but is willing to help with the sitting duties should contact Aleida Wright who can tell you - later after the entries are in - where the gaps are.
Because we are in a building in the city, badly built or unpainted plinths are going to stand out like.... well we don’t want them to. Gillian Govan has spare plinths - just need collecting and a coat of paint, Andrew Bryant is getting prices on building new plinths - and holding a workshop at his studio to assemble them, plenty more people can help so keep us in contact with your offers and needs and we’ll try to match them up.
Would you like your work seen by thousands? Please send high res images asap to asv_aae@sculptorsvictoria.asn.au or mail@sculptorsvictoria.asn.au and have the chance of being included in our advertising for the AAE and on our invitations.
It is not too late to put your hand up to help! There are lots of jobs that can be shared - in social media and publicity generally, helping at set up, advice on building really good plinths - don’t forget a fresh coat of white paint!
