Notes from the most recent Committee Meeting

• The Annual is progressing well . Beatrice sending out invitations. Publicity being carried out by Zoe. But there is a need for a new consolidated list of contacts to be made for next years exhibition. Can anyone help with this please.  Photography will be done by Janice McCarthy

In the meantime Gillian is looking into Venues for next year. Suggestions are City Venues, Counihan Gallery, Brunswick (awaiting response to proposal) and Montsalvat. Ideas and suggestions would be welcome.

• We are looking at setting up Friends of the ASV on the website..  We have done some initial investigations and will look at it again when we have cleared all our website teething problems

• Treasurer’s report shows that we have a healthy balance. Copies of the reports can be obtained from the treasurer on request.

• Quite a few members have not paid Annual fees. The membership secretary and treasurer would appreciate if this can be resolved as soon as possible.

• Herring Island- We have once again been invited to take part in the Herring Island Summer Festival and the president has accepted on behalf of the committee and members. Jenny Rickards will again ably and enthusiastically coordinate this exhibition.

• We are very happy with the website but there are still some changes that need to be made we are asking members to use the website and contact committee members with comments. It is hoped that members will be able to manage their own profile and that exhibition coordinators will be able to set up exhibitions on the site. Not all of us understand websites and some websites require familiarization. It has been suggested that at one of our meetings early next year we have a “get to know your website night”

• News letter – As it is an ongoing problem getting items for the news letter and getting the letter out regularly each month a 2 monthly letter was considered and will be discussed with the news letter editor. {This item was not raised by the current newsletter editor)

• Advertising- We have been approached about advertising products, materials and workshops in the news letter. It has been agreed that ads should be sent to newsletter@sculptorsvictoria.asn.au and depending on the size (basic Rate $25 for 2 months) and the treasurer will send an invoice.
