A different sort of Show and Tell: Tips and Tricks
One of our greatest resources is the knowledge and expertise of our members each sculptor has learned so much and only a part of that knowledge can be imparted in words. October is the time to share and learn. At our next meeting bring along a favourite tool or a piece of work where you learned something new or come armed with a question for the gathering to ponder.

SEPTEMBER MONTHLY MEETING
Thanks to all members who came to the talk by Geoffrey Ricardo. It was a great night and very inspiring. Geoffrey’s journey began as a printmaker and painter and he showed us many images of his work. It was unfortunate that we had limited time, as we would have liked to dwell a little more on this aspect of his work. However the main reason for showing these was that many of his prints, drawings and painted images influenced his sculptures. He also moved into sculpture because he had so many copper plates to discard after making prints. He used the plates beaten into shape to form his wonderful, whimsical but also meaningful expressions of the human condition. Geoffrey talked in a casual, relaxed and humble way about his success and we were most privileged to have him as our guest speaker.
I have now resigned as Activities coordinator but there will be an interesting meeting in October and a Christmas party (yes Christmas already) sometime in the next 2 months when members have an opportunity to talk about sculpture and anything else. It’s a good opportunity to get to know other members.
