The Association of Sculptors of Victoria is an inclusive, not-for-profit collective of contemporary artists whose purpose is to inspire,stimulate and advance the appreciation, creation, and exploration of three-dimensional art in society.

Lorne Sculpture Exhibition: 17 October – 8 November 2009: Three week festival of contemporary sculpture; surf coast walk features 33 major sculpture works and installations by local and international artists, and a further 17 small works are showcased in shop fronts in Lorne’s Moutjoy Parade. Yering Station Sculpture Exhibition: 25 October – 6 December 2009: endeavours to showcase a cross section of contemporary Australian sculptural practice from established and emerging artists. Major prize $10,000. 25 October – 6 December 2009. Web site: www.yering.com.


McClelland Sculpture Survey and Award 2010: Deadline 2 November 2009: Survey of outdoor sculpture intends to encourage artists and support the best of contemporary sculptural practice. The winning sculptor will receive the $100,000 McClelland Award 2010, as judged by Tony Ellwood Director of Queensland Art Gallery |Gallery of Modern Art Brisbane. A second award of $20,000 will be made by the Frankston City Council for the most popular work with visitors. Applications close Monday 2 November 2009 Entry fee $35. Abbotsford Convent Open Day and Art Auction 8th November 2009: To benefit the 2009 Victorian bushfire communities: a silent Auction which is open from 10am to 4pm and the main auction from 2pm to 4pm. The main auction will offer art works by artists in the Abbotsford Convent Community that have created the most interest and the highest bids in the period leading up to the day. An on line catalogue will be created and posted three weeks before the event where bids can be registered. A preview viewing on Saturday the 7th of November from 2pm to 4pm will also be available.
