I am moving house and will not have the room to store these pedestals!

I have 4 wood laminate blocks 350mm x 450mm square in great condition and will paint up very well.

Also 3 white pedestals

1 H1200mm x 300mm square top and 450mm square At the bottom

2 H 1020 x 360 square

The white ones have water damage at the bottom and could be cut down easily if required, they also have a panel in the side that can be removed to secure the sculpture to the stand!

Please call Jenny Whiteside on 0418393508 if you would like them ..as they are FREE .

I live in Beaumaris, call to make a time to collect asap… otherwise they will go to the tip 😥

Cheers,

Jenny Whiteside

Tania Hungerford Bio

“Infinite possibilities-at rest”  by Tania Hungerford

Second Prize at 2024 Annual & Awards Exhibition

“My lifelong passion for sculpture and form was kindled during childhood at a Waldorf /Steiner School in Tübingen/Germany. A visit to a ceramic studio at the age of nine remains vividly etched in memory—a moment when wonder blossomed. The potter’s fluid movements, the strength and elegance of her hands shaping the clay, and the effortless beauty emerging from her work left an indelible impression. For me, the essence of art lies in the dialogue between imagination, the dynamic gestures of the hands, and the material’s voice, which together breathe life into form and reflect the rhythms of life itself.

In 1982, as a young woman, I travelled to Australia and began working at a horse-riding school in Armidale, NSW, where I met my partner, Tom.

Sharing dreams of becoming a potter, I soon embarked on a transformative journey, training with ceramic artist Will Castle. Over nine years, I honed the craft of creating balanced and harmonious forms, built wheels and wood-fired kilns, and delved deeply into material experimentation, laying the foundation for a lifelong exploration of form and movement.

Later, Tom and I settled in Melbourne, raising a family while pursuing advanced studies in Education, Counselling, Social Science, and Therapeutic Arts. These experiences enriched my artistic practice, deepening the connections between creativity, human development, and the natural world.

Sculpture has remained a constant thread throughout this journey.

Working with clay, wood, copper, and stone continues to inspire, as does the opportunity to share this passion. For the past 28 years, I have been privileged to teach sculpture and an array of subjects at the Melbourne Rudolf Steiner Teacher Training Seminar. Topics such as art and sculpture, phenomenological observation, the healthy development of the senses, form drawing, and human development form part of this rich tapestry of work.

I feel profoundly grateful for the chance to weave art, anthroposophy, and human connection into a meaningful whole.

This creative and reflective journey is one I deeply connect to and continue to explore and share with others.

Over the past five years, my passion has centred on carving, primarily working with wood. I cherish exploring the unique qualities of different timbers, reflecting on the stories each tree holds. In the last two years, I have participated in exhibitions organised by Sculptors Victoria and successfully sold several pieces.

Tania is holding a workshop on 24th May. More information will come in later newsletters.
