The Association of Sculptors of Victoria is an inclusive, not-for-profit collective of contemporary artists whose purpose is to inspire, stimulate and advance the appreciation, creation, and exploration of three-dimensional art in society.

From the Editor and the President

“Sculpture is an art of the open air. Daylight, sunlight, is necessary to it, and for me, its best setting and complement is nature.” Henry Moore

What a party we had at Carmel's place! In the end, with pleasant comings and goings, we saw about 20 sculptors and partners and some delicious food...

Social Media

“Hi all!

At the moment , the ASV doesn’t have exhibitions running, so this is the perfect time to promote yourself, your work, or a show you are a part of.

Send photos of you in your workshop,
you with work,
only your work,
only you,
a flyer of a show,
with some information (!) to; asvsocialmedia@gmail.com
And you will feature on our pages!
People LOVE photos of artists in their studio :-)

ALSO… don’t forget to @sculptors_victoria in your instagram posts !
You can let us ‘collaborate’. Which means I can repost- and you get some easy-peasy extra attention.
Who knows where it may lead to.

Anyone interested to help me write bits btw?? I can always use some relief, especially now I am going away again!

Cheers, Aukje

Interesting Art

Melbourne’s public sculpture in 2024

Black Mark questions these public statues.

www.zimoun.net

I came across this on Instagram. I love his creative engineering and I hope you do also.
Zimoun, an artist who explores complexity through simplicity. He experiments with sound, space and perception.

Interesting!

Hans Arp - NGV International
Hans Arp | NGV

DID you know?

The NGV recently acquired twenty-four sculptures by Hans Arp, perhaps better known as Jean Arp, as part of a donation from the artist's estate. The works in plaster and bronze are great examples of Arp's 'biomorphic' or 'organic' abstraction and well worth a visit. The exhibition is on until February and entry is free.

Don't forget another amazing exhibition on there: Yayoi Kusama
