President's Letter November 2024

The Association held its Annual General Meeting on 31st October 2024. We had a great chat from Carolyn Rogers about her work of sculptural textiles on reclaimed wood. We did run the meeting online as well as at the Camberwell Community Centre. The reports included the usual financial report and reports on all our coordinators' work. The PDF treasurer's report can be sent to members needing that information and it was presented at the meeting.

A slideshow of our activities in 2024 accompanied the president's report.

Visit to the Deannach Collective in Kallista

This was a surprisingly lovely place for a group of artists to collect and create. As an ex nursery, the venue is perfect for encouraging art. They were very welcoming, even offering homemade sausage rolls and nibbles.

Each artist spoke about their work with passion and delight. The name Deannach means ‘dust’ and, as carvers of limestone, there was plenty. The collective has a public opening from 30th Nov to 23rd of December.

It’s well worth the lovely scenic drive there. Not far at all.

Social Media

Hi all!

At the moment , the ASV doesn’t have exhibitions running, so this is the perfect time to promote yourself, your work, or a show you are a part of.

Send photos of you in your workshop,

you with work,

only your work,

only you,

a flyer of a show,

with some information (!) to: asvsocialmedia@gmail.com
And you will feature on our pages!
People LOVE photos of artists in their studio :-)

ALSO… don’t forget to @sculptors_victoria in your instagram posts !
You can let us ‘collaborate’. Which means I can repost - and you get some easy-peasy extra attention.
Who knows where it may lead to.

Anyone interested to help me write bits btw?? I can always use some relief, especially now I am going away again!

Cheers, Aukje
