We cooperate as an association to advance the practice of sculpture and the reputation and appreciation of sculpture and sculptors in the community. This is regardless of whether or not we make a living from sculpture and regardless of our preferred style or medium. To this end we support artists’ moral rights, we advocate a professional attitude to the production and presentation of work and encourage the artistic and intellectual stimulation of interaction amongst artists of all persuasions.

From the President

Gillian Govan
Gillian Govan President

It has been great to see so many of you at our zoom meetings. While we look forward to getting back together physically this way of meeting has had its advantages.  Country members and people who do not like driving at night have been able to join us, and I noticed a few wine glasses being raised …. Mine included…. No drink driving!

Thanks to Chris Anderson, David Barclay and Marg Carey for their contributions via YouTube and thanks to John Bishop for his expertise in putting the meeting together and showing the YouTubes.  It was a really good night. Since then we have had a zoom committee meeting. Lots of discussion, laughs and happy friendly conversation. We zoomed through the agenda with enthusiasm and a glass of wine. We are all excited about the events planned for the next year.

In the meantime our next zoom will be our AGM. It will be great to see as many of you as possible on that evening. I will be resigning as president but will still remain on the committee to support whoever takes over. We are hoping to organise an interesting guest speaker for the meeting too. So please fire up your computers and join us.

All the best. Stay safe Gillian
