Visit to TarraWarra

On October 20st 4 members from the ASV attended an Exhibition at the TarraWarra Gallery in celebration of the TarraWarra Biennial 2018. The exhibition was called "From Will to Form" and included a number of floor talks, performances and a continious drop by workshop.

Despite the miserable conditions outside on the day, the inside of the gallery was warm and buzzing with floor talks between an number of sculptors and Emily Cormack who is the Curator of the TarraWarra Biennial 2018.

Of particular interest to us was the floor talk with Sanne Mestrom who was our guest speaker at the AGM. Sanne discussed her exhibits at the gallery and explained that her exhibits were her reaction to carrying her baby and giving birth. Her son (now about 10 months old) accompanied her at the floor talk. The floor talk took place in the foyer of the gallery beside one of her sculptures depicting giving birth.

We completed the afternoon with a wine and light lunch at Marg Carey’s beautiful country house.
