Studio visit with Yvonne Monik

Yvonne with her work at 2017 Annual Exhibition
At first only four people gathered but then the later comers swelled the numbers to a small crowd of sculptors attending Yvonne Monik’s studio for an amazing and inspiring evening. The night was cold but we all gathered in her cosy studio to learn about her work and learn about her magnificent collection of tools and equipment. Yvonne explained not only how she creates her art in clay, but also how she produces magnificent welded frames to display some of her work.

While enjoying a glass of wine with cheese and crackers we were able to see and admire her huge Kiln (around 1 mt high) and hear about how she bends and welds metal.

We were all also very impressed by how tidy, clean and organised her studio was. It was a great evening that I am sure all participants enjoyed very much.

Thank you, Yvonne for letting us into your house and studio and for sharing with us some of your tricks.
