Letter for February

http://melbflowershow.com.au/
Hi Everyone,

I am Paul Cacioli and have taken on the daunting task of managing this year’s ASV Sculpture Exhibition at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. The MIFGS is run by a company called The International Marketing Group (IMG) and they kindly sponsor us by providing the site, services and some of the prize money. They also provide some promotional help through Hot House Media who organize all the promotions for the Show as contracted by IMG.

Mark Cowie has done an excellent job in the past but due to personal reasons he has decided not to continue curating the ASV Sculpture Exhibition at the MIFGS.

There is a tremendous amount of work done by a few people to make sure that the show is a success. The committee comprised of Jenny Rickards, Yvonne Monik and Gillian Govan are an amazing help to me in ensuring all that needs to be done in a timely fashion, in particular, Jenny with the database and having to put up with me. Other members have also been extremely helpful.

"Looking Forward to Looking Backwards"

As of the 20th of February, we have had approximately 115 sculptures entered by 65 artists. The range and beauty of the entries is really inspiring. Acceptance letters, Installation Instructions and times, Sitting rosters and invitations will all be with you soon.

Time is fleeting, and it will not be long before we will be getting ready to install our pieces at the MIFGS.

As usual the MIFGS is expected to be attended by over 100,000 people which presents us with great exposure for our work

I look forward to meeting you and hope that the show is a great success and we get to have lots of red dots.

Best wishes
Paul Cacioli
Curator, ASV Exhibition, MIFGS.
