The April Meeting: 12th April at 7:30pm

Please note the change of day and date!

Thursday 12th April at 7:30pm
The Venue: Armadale Meeting Rooms; 2 Fulton St, Armadale
Melway Reference: Map 58 J7

This is a new venue - Jenny and Gillian checked it out - it is tucked in near a U3A centre and seems seems fairly central - if anything can ever satisfy our widespread membership; it has heating and cooling, a kitchen, tables and chairs, a whiteboard and projection screen - luxury!

Topic for Discussion:
Whilst previously we thought that Fatih Semiz might give us a talk about his work - this will have to wait until another time as Fatih will be away. So - ever ready to improvise we decided to ask John Bishop to bring a notebook computer and Internet connection and - via the ASV’s digital projector - help us explore the world of Kinetic Sculpture.

Clearly the inspiration for this came from our own members: from Rudi Jass’s elegant wind sculptures, examples of which are at the Flower Show right now; also from work that Viktor Kalinowski has done with whimsical mechanical devises. I saw Theo Jansen’s “Strandbeest” at Federation Square - inspiration is everywhere.

So come and enjoy a good mingle and express an opinion about the meeting space. And bring some kinetic sculpture discussion points.
