A few changes for this year as we are not sharing with painters and the exhibition will run for two weeks rather than three. This means we will have unlimited wall space for those of you who like to make pieces that can be hung but please think about how much pieces weigh and have more than one hanging line if necessary.
I would also like to ask people to please give the person doing the roster for minding the exhibition more than one option as it makes their job much easier. For MIFGS we had 80 sculptors but 19 of them wanted the same time slot and only gave one option which was just not workable.
You do have to supply your own plinth and they do need to be white so that the exhibition looks cohesive and attention is focused on the work rather than what it is sitting on. I was asked last year why we do not have a supply of plinths, and it is just not possible to store them nor to know what height and size a sculpture will need as this changes with the work. Plinths also protect your work so it helps if the work does not stick out over the edges.
