December Letter from the President

Our end of year celebration was a great success - we gathered for the first time in a couple of years and Jon Eiseman gave us a talk that was long promised and long postponed due to one thing and another - some Covid thing I believe. Jude Bridges-Tull (and Kerry) hosted the gathering and Gillian Govan welcomed us all - because Gillian has been promising us this talk for years. What an awesome Activities Team they make! And of course Jon’s talk was an inspiration - he took us into his making process, his philosophy and ideas - thank you Jon.

Our next opportunity to catch up will be the Herring Island exhibition. All the usual interesting activities that accompany exhibiting on an island make for a lot of camaraderie - full on holiday mode for us and for our visitors. If you are not exhibiting do come along to visit.

Jude has plans for activities - check them all thoroughly or you may miss something really interesting - 2023 is going to be full of exhibitions, activities and sharing of skills, information and friendship. Enjoy your end of year break and then catch up on Herring Island.

Work planning our website rebuild is commencing soon. Right now you can see that the home page has been streamlined. We hope that the site will appear cleaner and easier to navigate. We are collecting feedback in two ways - firstly users’ comments and secondly Alberto gets feedback from the numbers of people who visit the site - how they got there and how long they stayed and what they look at - don’t worry it’s all numbers and your privacy is safe.

Wishing you all safe and happy over the festive season.

Jenny Rickards President
