Lovell Chen and Pellicano builders are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from suitably experienced artists who wish to create a contemporary artwork as part of the implementation of heritage interpretation at the redeveloped Ballarat Railway Station Precinct
The artwork will utilise salvaged heritage fabric (railway track) and help create a sense of place and understanding of the heritage significance of the site.
The commission will be awarded to an individual artist, or group of artists, who best demonstrate the ability to deliver an artistic outcome that becomes a key feature of the site. The aspiration is that the artwork becomes a meeting point, a talking point and photo-worthy (e.g. Instagram, Flickr etc.).
Local artists from the Ballarat region are strongly encouraged to apply.
Up to three shortlisted submissions will received a fee of $1,250 (ex GST) to prepare and present their concept design.
The budget for the commissioned artwork is between $50,000 - $75,000 (ex GST)
Details of the EOI and shortlisting process are able to be downloaded here.
Submissions must be received by 5pm 14 April 2020, no late submissions will be accepted.
