SCRAP

We are a community group, in a Victorian regional town (population < 400), and each year we have an art show to raise funds for local community groups within our postcode. For five years we hosted the Bald Archys, the alternate Archibald art show, exhibiting caricatures of famous Australians. Last year the Bald Archy organisers changed their exhibition strategy, and Swanpool is no longer part of the tour. As a resilient community, we launched our own art show - Swanpool Creative Recycled Art Prize (SCRAP) which displays all forms of art, made from 75% or more recycled materials. This year we have added another category for outdoor art as well, to further broaden our visitor experience - and details can be found on our website: http://www.swanpoolanddistrict.com.au/scrap-2019.html

Entries close at 5pm on 12thJuly2019

My husband is a retired motor mechanic (we live in Croydon, Vic). We have some old car parts like brake drums, a flywheel or two, various items. We would rather have someone take them and perhaps put them to good use instead of just taking them to the scrap metal yard. Also have quite a lot of nuts and bolts. Not a truckload of anything, but if someone lives in the Croydon area, perhaps they would like to check what’s here. Phyllis Coffey – pjcoffey@hotkey.net.au
