Diary Dates

Saturday 14 July. At 9.30am you are invited to Mont Delancey Homestead, where the Wandin Blacksmiths have their smithy. Paul Cacioli along with Oskar Huecherig will do some demonstrations showing how both functional and artistic smithing is accomplished. The session will be open format where questions are welcome and those adventurous enough may put hammer to steel (under tight supervision).
By the end of the session you will hopefully understand how blacksmithing may help enhance your own art work and what the difference is between smithing and fabrication.
It will end around 12.00 noon with some tea, coffee and cake.
The historical Mont Delancey Homestead, built around 1860 and is still owned by the Sebire family, is located in the Yarra Valley at 71 Wellington Road, Wandin North, 3139.
We look forward to seeing you.
Best wishes, Paul Cacioli

September and Activities for the remainder of the year
1. As you see by the dates for your diary we have an exciting visit to the blacksmith in July. As we have the Annual Exhibition in August we will not have a meeting. But what will we do in September? I will be away and at this stage have nothing planned for the September meeting. Would anyone like to open their studio? Do you know a sculptor who would talk to us. Have you any ideas. Please contact me. I am hoping to organise a figure drawing class sometime and another foundry visir but not before I go away. Please help to fill the gap.

2. Nyora would also like to run a full day session for 10 people sculpting directly from a model in wax. 10am to 3pm. $210 per person after mid August, Please lt me know if you are interested and I will organise a group. Nyora also offer life drawing sessions http://nyorastudio.com/classes-and-workshops/

3. A group visit to Point Leo Estate has been suggested - possibly without eating in the restaurant there. Let us know if you are interested in getting a group together.
