Report on Herring Island Summer Arts Festival and the ASV exhibition

The festival itself is continuing – currently the Contemporary Art Society Victoria is showing a great range of 2 and 3D works - including an installation by Robert Lee in the courtyard. Our exhibition went well - we attracted around 200 visitors on some days, the demonstration events were popular, the preview cruise from Southbank to the island was a blast, and we sold 8 out of 46 works. Information about the festival can be obtained from http://home.vicnet.net.au/~hisaf/ and a more newsy blog with lots of pictures can be seen at http://hisafnews.blogspot.com/ . Sold works were: John Bishop - Naissance, Patti Casimir – Into the Waves, Helen Clancy - Maidenly Demure, of Womanhood the Lure, Gillian Govan - Bracing the Elements, Senia Kazar – Platypus – Rockpool, Marija Patterson – Layered and Masked IV, Lise Toft - Two Mud Men - Spirits, John Wooller - Shelter from the Storm.
